Welcome to Aspen Class! 

There are two classes in Key Stage 1 for children aged 5 – 7 (Yew and Aspen).  There is one Year 1 class and one Year 2 class. Although they have their own curriculum, they may sometimes join together for learning or assemblies. 

Welcome to Aspen Class. I have the absolute privilege of being the year 2 teacher, Mrs Vickery-Cox. Together with Mrs Khan and Mrs Boddington, we have the pleasure of supporting our class to become incredible learners. Our class is a happy one as we work together with our wonderful group of keen children who are always full of facts and experiences that they want to share! It is wonderful to see them all skip in daily with huge smiles ready for the day ahead. I believe that this is down to the exciting curriculum and subjects that we teach. This is going to be an incredibly thrilling year ahead as our curriculum has become even more exciting. This year, some of the areas of learning we will be covering are, 'The Monarchy' ,' How we learn to fly' in history, 'What it’s like to live by the sea' in geography, 'Healthy Eating' in science, 'Making moving monsters' in DT and this is just a taste of what's to come. The best part of what happens in Aspen is listening to our children discussing what they have learnt in previous years as well as their new and current learning. We always aim to keep that enthusiasm growing throughout the entire time that they are with us. I just know it will be a fabulous year.
