School Development Priorities
Each year, the staff and governors at Maple Tree work together to set key priority areas which will drive our school's improvement even further forwards. These 'whole school objectives' are created and monitored throughout the course of the year. We are pleased to share our objectives for the 2022-2023 academic year below:
Priority 1
Improve outcomes in reading and writing, particularly at KS2 by: developing and embedding higher-order reading skills; developing accuracy in grammar and creating more opportunities for extended writing.
Priority 2
Continue to develop the curriculum with a specific focus on: developing foundation subjects, including assessment; whole school knowledge and understanding of the EYFS framework.
Priority 3
Continue to develop leadership at all levels within the whole school community by: making ready use of tools available to strengthen succession planning for governors in order that a skilful execution of strategic responsibilities is maintained; developing the part pupils play in leadership and development; the development of peer coaching and succession planning.
Priority 4
To ensure all children make accelerated progress towards a Good Level of Development (GLD) at the end of Reception.
