Year 2 Aspen Class
Welcome to Aspen Class!
There are two classes in Key Stage 1 for children aged 5 – 7 (Yew and Aspen). There is one Year 1 class and one Year 2 class. Although they have their own curriculum, they may sometimes join together for learning or assemblies.
Welcome to Aspen Class. I am proud to be the year 2 teacher, Mrs Vickery-Cox. I have been a year 2 teacher for some time and love it very much indeed. With that said, no two years have ever been the same and I relish how unique each year is. Each day I am greeted with happy faces bounding into the classroom. Together with Miss Goodwin, we have the amazing job of supporting our class to become incredible learners. We are very fortunate to have so many enthusiastic children who want to take on the learning and work to the best of their potential. We believe that this is down to the exciting curriculum and subjects that we teach. This year some of the areas of learning we will be covering are the monarchy in history, what it’s like to live by the sea in geography and healthy eating in science to name but a few. The best part of what happens in Aspen is listening to our children discussing what they have learnt in prior years as well as their new and current learning. We always aim to keep that excitement growing.
